Police Arrest Military Officer For Armed Robbery (video)

The Nigeria police operatives attached to Ikot – Abasi Divisional headquarters in Akwa Ibom police command has arrested a serving military officer identified as Cpl Stephen for alleged involvement in car snatching on the highway in the early hours of Tuesday.

9JAFOCUS gathered, that the alleged army officer who is attached to No. 6 Battalion, Akwa Ibom state left his fellow officers posted together on duty and sneaked out for robbery operation.

According to Nextreporter news, a man who drove a matrix car with registration No- BWR 480 GN traveling to Uyo gave the alleged military officer lift at Eleme junction, Port Harcourt going to Ikot Abasi, Akwa Ibom state, hoping that the army officer will help him beat all the several checking points of security operatives on the road not knowing to him that he has a bad intention for him, few minutes to approach Ikot Abasi, the army officer reportedly shot the driver dead and snatched the car from him, unknowing to him that the car has a tracker and Anti theft security and he was nabbed in one hotel in Ukanafun Local government on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Akwa Ibom state police command has handed him over to the military General officer commanding of Six (6) battalion, Akwa Ibom at the State Police headquarters on Tuesday, for firstly, a Court Marshal trial before handing him over to the police for further investigations and prosecution.

As at the time of filling this report all efforts to reach the police public relations officer (PPRO) of Akwa Ibom state command to confirm the incident proves abortive.
